Our vision is to become an internationally recognized regional hub of innovation in urban informatics, technology and data-driven policy-making for sustainable urban development

Center for Urban Informatics, Technology, and Policy (CITY) at Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) aims to transform the advances in technological innovations in data gathering, data analytics, and data-driven decision-making for designing policy frameworks targeted at sustainable urban development with a focus on developing countries. As urban areas continue to grow, it has become crucial that we plan and manage them in ways that are sustainable and don’t harm the environment or the well-being of the people who live there. This means reducing the risks of climate change, minimizing waste and pollution, and promoting equity and social inclusion.
By strongly emphasizing research, innovation and multidisciplinary collaboration, the CITY at LUMS aims to work to use informatics, technology, and data analytics to catalyze the development of evidence-based policy design for addressing problems related to urban mobility, urban development, and urban environment and health.
